Top 100 of 1992

So, in the final part of my chart trilogy we have 1992.  There are a few glaring errors in the ordering (I'm thinking mostly 'Motorcycle Emptiness' and 'Midlife Crisis') but on the whole this is an incredible list of songs.  I wasn't quite the metalhead I would become at this point, but you can see my tastes shifting through these 3 charts.

Just to clarify again - this is a chart I compiled in 1992 (when I was 14) and not my current views, but give or take the odd song, I own a copy of pretty much everything here.  If you've ended up on this page then I'd be fairly confident that you would like at least one song here as well, probably many!!

Top 100 of 1991

Kids grow up quick don't they?  Just a year before, in 1990, my chart was full of pop and chart music with the odd song from the Soup Dragons or the Charlatans creeping in.  Now, aged 13, it's the other way round - I had quite a few bands I could call my own at this point, plus some that I heard through my brother's growing record collection too.

I think the rules included singles, B-sides and album tracks from the year at this point, which is why some bands seem to have a lot of entries.  I had amassed around ten LPs before this point, but as may be obvious from the chart I had also picked up 'Spartacus' by The Farm, 'Schubert Dip' by EMF, 'A Life With Brian' by Flowered Up and 'Pornograffiti' by Extreme which make a few appearances each.

There aren't many entries here that I'm not keen on now, obviously the order would change and songs I've heard since could push others out but not really embarrassing at all this one.  Although the Manics don't do especially well here despite all their singles for the year getting an entry, but that just proves I'm giving it to you truthfully as it was at the time!!
